The idea for Underbelly came from a few lads who were fed up reading some of the inaccurate articles in the press, regarding what goes on in Glasgow organized crime, so we decided that
Glasgow needs a TRUE crime magazine to let people know what actually goes on. We do not claim to be journalists or writers; we are just ordinary people who will write it as it is, without glamorizing the criminal lifestyle. So apologies in advance about the grammar, we will get better as we go along.
We hope that the magazine and its content will make people think before embarking on a life of crime, while at the same time giving people a fascinating insight to what actually went on and still goes on to this day...
The real life prison stories that we will be covered in each edition, along with a serialization in each edition about addiction to heroin.
The stories mentioned above have been written by people who have been there, lived the life and managed to come out the other side and become productive members of society, some are not so lucky.
The history of Glasgow, organized crime should be told exactly as it happened, this has not always been the case in the past. The inaccuracies that have been put out as fact has led to a whole lot of myths being created surrounding some significant events in the history of Glasgow organized crime.
We are going to try our best to rectify this and hopefully in the process create a magazine that the public will enjoy and look forward to reading each month.
