A century of unbreakable bonds, and friendships which last a lifetime. Six girls growing up in the seaside town of Westering live through a magical summer which changes the course of their lives, and leads them to keep secrets which will affect generations to come. Bound by ties of blood and affection, only through facing the truth will each find the link to the past which will heal the future - and learn that, after all, everything is perfectly connected.

"... a lovely story of how lives and events are connected and how those connections, even if they are unknown to us, affect our lives and our actions.
Baldwin tells the life stories of a group of girls in the mid-seventies, in a small English sea side town, and how one summer changed the direction of all their lives. ....a story of interconnected lives and pasts that shape the future. ....a sweeping story of four generations of people from the town of Westering that is full of emotion, passion and humanity."

"A lovely unassuming story of intertwined lives that at times was a bit confusing but most of the time I was hooked. We all have moments in our lives that have shaped us and connected us to others and the group of girls in this story have faced guilt from theirs. I enjoyed the feelings that were beautifully described and would definitely recommend this book for a great read on a long weekend. "

"Mandy Baldwin does an excellent job of creating deep, interesting, and complex characters. Her settings are very descriptive, and she has a different-in-a-good-way of sorting the story, switching from third to first person viewpoint, and telling the story in bits and pieces in a non linear fashion.
I was so drawn in and interested in the characters and in the past mysteries the narrative kept hinting at, that I couldn't put my ipad down until I knew what happened.
The story covers a very long period of time and shows how the choices we make both shape our futures and the the futures of those around us. She did a great job of highlighting each age group of the characters, making them all feel real, and the places she wrote of felt real too.
I would recommend to anyone who enjoys family saga stories and deep characters studies, with a bit of mystery thrown in."
