Continuing on from the story of the little girl, during the World War 2, in Barrow, Lancashire, England, we now have the 'Mother's Eye View' of life, dealing with the heartache and heartbreak as her family break apart, to cope with living, working and surviving through the Blitz in this Northern English shipbuilding town. In these difficult times, her husband enlists and her children are evacuated to safety, but encounter other dangers.
Elizabeth has to work very hard to provide for them all, and unexpectedly finds love again.
