She has just witnessed the cremation of her parents at a power station converted into a crematorium and death camp. They are on their own now, and ill-equipped to deal with the government backed militias they call Death Masks, the rebel guerrilla forces, and evil opportunists that prey on the young and the weak.
She knows that they won’t last long unless she does something, no matter how impossible it may seem. It's just a matter of time.
She has to get them off the mainland. She has to try and bring them somewhere safe. She knows where to go. It’s a 500 mile journey. They’ll have to stay off the roads.
Their only hope is a place she calls Shetland.
