This is a true account of the abuse of a middle-class child by sadistic and deviant parents. It was only when this story was written down that a full understanding of their motives emerged. A blighted, frightening and ruined childhood was the result. Survival came through faith and renewal. Looking back to a poverty-stricken, abusive childhood from my current life of ease, luxury and fulfilment, I can hardly credit that it happened. I never refer to Hilda and Reg as Mum and Dad. They do not deserve the compliment.
